Respect and protection of the environment and our employees are central to our approach.   We use rainwater and water-based inks without volatile organic compounds.  We recycle our wastewater and work out of concern for energy conservation.

Exclusive use of water-based ink

- PVC Free
- No Phthalates
- No Formaldehyde, heavy metals and APEO (used in detergents)
- Not volatile organic compounds

Reprocessing of water used in our cleaning process

Our workshop is equipped with an electrochemical reprocessing station.*

The water purified is stored in a tank of 3500 liters and can be reused in our cleaning process.
* (Energy saving, highly efficient flocculant, produces very little sludge.)

Why is it so important to process wastewater, even in a standard workshop?

The standard screen printing workshop using Plastisol inks use solvents for cleaning.  Solvents can be used by hand or in a mechanical process but they always have to be removed by specialized companies.  Because of this, a standard workshop has a limited use of water and sometimes, they throw their wastewater directly to the sewer, without any treatment.

This is a serious mistake because even if a workshop doesn’t use water-based ink, water is used for the counting of the screens (screens are washing after exposure to remove photosensitive emulsion-produced non-burned).

This emulsion is the most polluting of all screen-printing process.  In most workshops this is dumped directly into the sewer.

Verte Impression made a totally different choice by using only based-water inks, all our waste are process in the same place.  Although we use the cleanest products on the market, we couldn’t reject our waters directly in the sewer because their rate of pollution is still twice the limit.  Our water reprocessing station could allow us to reject our clean water in the nature.  The analysis below proves it.  Sludge from this treatment, because of the technologie we use, are reduced and safe.

We tested the water after recycling, you can download below a PDF of the results of this analysis.

The absence of solvents

Because of the exclusive use of water-based inks, we can greatly simplify the cleaning.  We do not use any solvents, and clean our screens with only soap and water.  The screens are reclaimable by a solution composed of 95% water and 5% of a concentrate of reclaiming (compound itself of 90% water and 10% of periodic acid is completely miscible in water).  All these elements are very easily either biodegradable or treatable by our unit water purification.

Exclusive use of screens Newman Roller Frame

The use of the screens Newman Roller Frame allows us not only an optimal tension of the fabric, that assure the highest quality print but also an increased lifespan of the fabric.  This reduces significantly waste because it avoids transport to a prospective provider to prepare screens.  Newman screens by their design require no glue (cyanoacrylate) used traditionally for bonding fabrics.

The use of rain water in the cleaning process

We clean our equipment screen (squeegees, screens, pots of ink) with rainwater.
A tank of 7500 liters assures us (in Brest) almost total autonomy over the year.
Precipitation during the driest months is complemented by clean water after the treatment plant.

A new generation drying tunnel hot air

Our drying tunnel has an enhanced thermal insulation to prevent heat loss.
However, even if it has a low-power design, we are currently working on a recovery of calories in order to make it more efficient.
